This paper studies the existence, and multiplicity of positive solutions of a singular boundary value problem for second-order differential systems with impulse effects. By using the upper and lower solutions method and fixed point ind...

Approximate solutions of Emden-Fowler type equations

Singular initial value problems are investigated. We extend a decomposition method for di¤erent type Emden-Fowler-like equations. Some special cases of the equation are solved as examples, to illustrate the reliableness of the method. The solutions are constructed in the form of a convergent series.

Positive solutions of singular boundary value problem of negative exponent Emden–Fowler equation

αu(0)−β u(0) = 0, γu(1)+ δu(1) = 0, (2) where α,β ,γ,δ ≥ 0,λ ∈ R and ρ := γβ + αγ + αδ > 0; p ∈ C((0,1), [0,∞)) and may be singular at t = 0,t = 1. When λ < 0, see [3,4,7,8] for the result concerning the above problem. When λ > 0, [6] shows the existence and uniqueness to (1) and (2) in the case of β = δ = 0 by means of the shooting method. For the following problem u + p(t)u−λ(t)+ q(t)u(t) = 0...

Solving Singular Initial Value Problems of Emden-Fowler and Lane-Emden Type

In this paper, Singular initial value problems are investigated by using Taylor series method. The solutions are constructed in the form of a convergent series. The method is applied to Emden-Fowler and Lane-Emden equations.

Intermediate Solutions for Emden–Fowler Type Equations: Continuous Versus Discrete

The existence of a class of nonoscillatory solutions for a generalized Emden–Fowler differential equation is studied. Some analogies and discrepancies between the continuous and discrete case are also discussed. AMS subject classification: Primary 34C10, Secondary 34C15, 39A10.
